The Mission of Core

mission

The mission of Core Community Church is to renew Omaha through a movement of the Gospel. We are not out to start a religious institution; we are on mission to see God renew all parts of our city through Jesus. We dream and work towards an Omaha that reflects the Kingdom of God in public and private realms, civic and business development, education and entertainment arenas, in all socioeconomic classes, and in each neighborhood. It is a huge vision - inspired by Psalm 96 - that can only be accomplished by the grace of God. Here is where we have started:

Renew The Church

Our church is supported by dozens of volunteers who make everything happen. The truth is that our church would not exist if it were not for these teams of people who serve faithfully.

Let us know if you want more information.

Renew The City

One of the convictions of our church is that we are not just in our city, but we are for our city. We serve our city because we love Omaha, and we want to see God’s kingdom come to our city.

  • Core's Mercy Team is a budding team coming together to strengthen partnerships with organizations in our city and continuing exploring more ways our church can serve Omaha.
  • Core's Benevolence Ministry is in place to provide for real needs of those in our community. Through an application process and meeting with a deacon or pastor, we together discern if and how Core can serve your family in a time of financial crisis.
  • InCommon Community Development exists to affront poverty through the cultivation of supportive community networks that participate in the holistic development of vulnerable populations and neighborhoods. In short, they transform communities through community.

  • RestoredHope exists to serve ladies through Christ-centered transitional living programs that transform women to be emotionally, spiritually, and financially responsible citizens.

  • Home Community Service Projects happen in various ways. Talk with your Home Community leader about how you can serve the city soon.
  • Packs of Promise is a seasonal donation drive coordinated by a member of Core. By donating just $35 you can provide warmth and food to a friend in the city who lives on the streets.

Church Planting

Core believes that the most effective way to bring renewal to a people or city is to plant churches, sharing the good news about Jesus, meeting needs, and making disciples.

  • Acts 29 in the Midwest. Core is an active part of serving other church planters in our own city, participating in quarterly luncheons with planters from different denominations and backgrounds. We also participate in or host regional meetings at various times.
  • 2 Pillars Church in Lincoln, NE. Core is a strategic partner with Todd Bumgarner as he plants a church in Lincoln.
